Back in hot water

Today we had our first taste of hot springs in Central America as we headed off to Las Fuentas Georginas just outside of Xela.  Billed as “a superb natural spa in a spectacular setting“, it’s probably fair to say that today we did not luck out in terms of weather.  It was a little foggy to say the least and therefore we didn’t get a view of Zunil Volcano as billed.  It was also a little rainy (although that didn’t really matter since we were sitting in the water anyway).

Although the water was not as hot as the Japanese onsens (some of which were possibly a little too hot), nevertheless, it was a relaxing experience sitting in the warm waters and surely one that was well-deserved after all our studying (cough cough!).
